In our community, over half the children will spend part of their childhood in single-parent families. Over 60% of these children are living below the poverty line. These children comprise:
*90% of runaway and homeless youth;
*71% of high school drop outs;
*70% of imprisoned minors.
Fortunately, there is help for these children. By matching them with caring and reliable mentors, Big Brothers Big Sisters has helped to keep these children in school, away from drugs, and out of trouble.
